Summer Internships Available

Pioneers Medical Center is offering two summer internships. PMC has received a summer jobs grant from Exxon Mobil and will be offering two, eight-week programs. IT/Website Development Position: Under supervision of the IT Director, an intern would assist with hardware and software implementation for clinical and non-clinical departments. An intern could expect to learn basic IT troubleshooting techniques for local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), servers, workstations and wireless networks. As telecommunications falls under the realm of the IT department, an intern would learn to run and terminate cable, as well as operate and troubleshoot Voice over IP (VOIP) phone systems. An engaged intern should leave the program with a very basic understanding of all of these systems.

Under the direction of the Business development Manager, the intern would have responsibilities for the development of the PMC website and Facebook projects. PMC will begin a re-work of its current website. This project would be a primary responsibility of the intern. At the end of the summer internship, he/she should have gained experience with website (code development), and website and social media marketing techniques.

Business Office/Accounting Position: The Business Office intern will receive a well-round experience in regards to the patient receivables management and structure, accounting and accounts payable, and medical records management within a healthcare organization. General responsibilities will include, but not limited too;
-Assist team with accurately posting payments to accounts.
-Assists team to process Accounts Payable
-Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
-General office duties.
