Well-Respected Long Term Care Residence

Pioneer Medical Center’s well-respected long term care residence is known as The Walbridge Memorial Wing. Affectionately called “The Wing,” it was named for the generous donations of Adelaide and Lewis B. Walbridge.

The Walbridge Memorial Wing is adjacent to the hospital and the Meeker Family Health Center, allowing our residents the convenience of nearby medical support while creating a home away from home. A skilled team of nurses, certified nursing assistants and support staff provide excellent care that meets or exceeds Medicare, Medicaid and Veteran’s Administration guidelines for long term care facility certification.

Providing a Comfortable Home Environment for Your Loved One

The facility features 30 private rooms, a new kitchen and lifestyle area, beautiful gardens, and cozy common areas for families to gather and for residents to participate in ongoing social events. In order to create a comfortable, enjoyable home environment, our staff provides each resident with high levels of personal attention. In addition, we always encourage our residents to engage in an active lifestyle.

We offer the following activities to provide outlets for our residents to become more involved in with others in the facility:

Comprehensive Long Term Care Services

The Walbridge Memorial Wing provides comprehensive long term care services to address the varied needs of our residents. These services include:

• 24-hour skilled nursing care
• Wound care
• On-site emergency and hospital services
• Rehabilitation department
• Restorative nursing
• Certified activities program
• Volunteer program
• Personal laundry services

We are certified to provide care through Medicare, Medicaid and the Veteran’s Administration. Therefore, we accept payment through these organizations and commercial insurance companies.

Off-Site Activities and On-Premises Amenities

In addition to the many in-house activities we offer, the Activities Department’s calendar also includes out-of-facility events such as:

• Community senior activities
• Shopping at Craig or Steamboat Springs
• Curbside seating at the annual Fourth of July parade
• The Sheepdog Trials
• A picnic at South Fork (a local recreation area)

A variety of amenities are available, which include:

• A beauty shop with a part-time beautician (services are free!)
