The White River
The White River flows through our valley, providing excellent rafting and fishing opportunities. The area is famous for trout fishing, featuring four species (rainbow, brown, cutthroat and brook). There are many public access points in Meeker, making it easy to enjoy all the river has to offer. A scenic walk along the river path will make for a beautiful, relaxing afternoon.
White River National Forest
The White River National Forest contains over 2.3 million acres of land. Meeker is located in the Blanco District, which contains over 350,000 acres of national forest land. With elevations ranging from 6,500 to 12,000 feet, the views are spectacular.
Flat Tops Wilderness Area
With over 230,000 acres of stunning wildlife, trails, rivers, lakes and campgrounds, the Flat Tops Wilderness area is a must-see for outdoorsy families. You can also take advantage of the many guided services in the Wilderness, making it easy to experience the natural beauty of the Flat Tops.
Flat Tops Scenic Byway
The Flat Tops Scenic Byway connects the towns of Meeker and Yampa. This scenic drive offers beautiful views of fall foliage in late September and early October, making it a must-see for leaf peepers.
