As a designated Level IV Trauma Center, our team is specially trained to assess, stabilize, and treat traumatic injuries while coordinating rapid transfer to higher-level trauma centers when advanced surgical care is needed.

Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District is a designated Level IV Trauma Center serving Imperial County and surrounding communities. Our trauma team is equipped to provide advanced trauma assessment, stabilization, diagnostic evaluation, and critical care services for injured patients.
When necessary, patients requiring specialized surgical or higher-level trauma care are rapidly transferred to partnering regional trauma centers to ensure seamless continuity of care. Our team coordinates helicopter and fixed-wing transport for patients requiring advanced specialty or trauma services, ensuring seamless continuity of care with regional trauma centers.
In addition to emergency care, our trauma program is actively involved in community outreach, injury prevention, public education, and regional trauma system collaboration.
