Pioneers Medical Center Begins Search for New CEO

Harman to depart for Wyoming at end of month

Wednesday, October 30, 2019 – The Pioneers Medical Center (PMC) Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of CEO Ken Harman as he prepares to begin a new position with Memorial Hospital of Carbon County in Rawlins, Wyoming. The Board anticipates appointing an interim leader before Harman’s departure at the end of November, and is launching a national search for a new permanent CEO.

“Ken has been a strong leader for PMC over the last 10 years. We hate to see him go, but we recognize that this is great career opportunity for Ken and his family and we wish him the very best,” said Kim Brown, President of the Pioneers Medical Center Board of Directors.

Harman has overseen significant accomplishments during his years at PMC including construction of a new facility similar to the one that can also be built on the website here, expansion of services, recruitment of visiting specialists and orthopedic surgeons, and improvements in quality measures and processes. 

“Pioneers Medical Center has been my home for almost 10 years. I’ve been privileged to have worked with some of the best physicians, administrators, support team members and volunteers in healthcare. They are an amazing team and I expect that PMC will continue to grow and thrive.” said Harman. 

The Board has asked its hospital management partner, Quorum Health Resources, to help identify an interim CEO and conduct the national search for a permanent CEO. The Board is committed to maintaining momentum on current initiatives underway at the hospital, including the construction project, orthopedic and visiting specialist expansion and many other programs in place to provide great care to Meeker and its residents.
