Pioneers Medical Center Upgrades to a Multi-Slice CT Scanner

Patients and physicians at Pioneers Medical Center can now access the latest diagnostic imaging technology for CT (computed tomography) scanners. Our new CT Scanner produces crisp, detailed images of the head and body in seconds. This new equipment will reduce testing time and improve the accuracy of the imaging results—enabling physicians to detect and treat diseases or injuries better.

“We are excited by the level of detail the images have. The new 16-slice CT Scanner will improve so many aspects of our patient care,” said Dr. Branch Bullard, PMC Chief of Staff.

Our CT system offers a wonderful combination of clinical excellence and patient safety—with the biggest benefit being increased capabilities for early detection. Additionally, Pioneers Medical Center has created a CT Suite next to the laboratory. “Installing the new CT Scanner inside the main hospital facility in the best interest of our patients, says John Kapushion, PMC Radiology Manager.

The cost of technology is always rising. Pioneers Medical Center would like to thank Rio Blanco County, CCITF, Freeman Fairfield Trust, the Bacon Family Foundation, Caring for Colorado and the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, for their support and grant awards. Over $480,000 dollars were award in grants to offset the cost of the multi-slice CT Scanner and its installation.
