Position Title: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Department:Facilities Management
Position Description: The Maintenance Technician assists in maintaining the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with established procedures. He/she helps assure that a successful, viable, maintenance program is maintained at all times, as directed by the supervisor or department manager.

    Qualifications:
    Education:High School Diploma.
    Experience:Hospital or Other Facilities Maintenance Experience preferred.
    Special Skills:Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, floor / carpet care, grounds maintenance desired.
    Physical Requirements:Requires sitting, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, climbing ladders, operation of floor finishing and other equipment, and moving intermittently during work hours. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move heavy equipment and supplies throughout the work day. May be exposed to bio-chemical hazards, (Toxic fumes, possible spills and burns, allergic reactions, etc.), infectious and contagious disease and substances, contaminated articles, blood borne situations, body fluids, and wastes, unpleasant odors, wastes and infectious wastes. May be subject to cuts, bruises, falls, and burns from equipment. May be subjected to cramped working areas/spaces, and a hot work environment. Required to work in adverse weather conditions.

    The candidate filling this position is part of an on-call rotation and is required to live within 20 minutes of Pioneers Medical Center and may be called in to work hours in the evening and on weekends. This is a full-time position and is eligible for benefits.
