Welcome to the Walbridge Memorial Wing, affectionately known as The Wing. Our goal at The Wing is to create “a place to LIVE” for our residents. Residents have the freedom to make individual choices through open dining, Resident Council, and being involved in their own care decisions. They enjoy a variety of activities and diversions throughout the day. Another aspect of living at The Wing is the close relationships between the residents, students, and church groups, etc. providing many opportunities for residents to stay involved with the community.
Walbridge Memorial Wing is licensed for 33 beds. The rooms are clean and bright, and residents are encouraged to personalize their space. We strive to maintain an optimal staff to resident ratio. Our care team of over 30 nurses, certified nursing assistants, and support staff provide compassionate care and personal attention to each and every resident. The Wing is conveniently attached to Pioneers Medical Center and the Meeker Family Health Clinic. This provides easy access to physician care and rapid response in case of an emergency.
Services consist of 24-hour skilled nursing care, wound care, on-site emergency and hospital services, Rehabilitation Department, Restorative Nursing, certified Activities program, a volunteer program, religious services, Resident Council and personal laundry services.
The Activities Department calendar includes games, weekly music, monthly birthday parties, the Wednesday Sewing Club, Bingo, religious and fellowship services, plus out-of-facility events such as the Sheepdog Trials, community senior activities, a picnic at South Fork (a local recreation area), shopping at Craig or Steamboat Springs, and curbside seating at the annual Fourth of July parade. See slideshow below.
A variety of amenities are available, which include a beauty shop with a part time beautician (services are free!), bright sunroom, dining room with fireplace, covered gazebo by a waterfall, courtyard with raised garden beds, and the PMC Wellness Center.
We are certified to provide care through Medicare, Medicaid and the Veteran’s Administration. Therefore, we accept payment through these organizations and commercial insurance companies.
