The Cardiopulmonary Team at Pioneers Medical Center is comprised of registered and certified respiratory therapists dedicated to the preventative and restorative health needs of our pulmonary and cardiac patients.
In addition to being credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care and licensed by the State of Colorado, each member of the Cardiopulmonary Team is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation.
Under the direction of the Cardiopulmonary Manager and Medical Advisor, PMC’s respiratory therapists use state-of-the-art equipment to manage breathing for emergency/trauma patients, asthma sufferers, those with chronic lung disease, newborns and critical care patients requiring ventilator support.
In addition to our comprehensive inpatient care we offer diagnostic testing such as:
EKG’s (electrocardiograms)
24 hour holter monitoring
Cardiac event monitoring
Cardiac stress tests
Echocardiograms and stress echo imaging
Sleep studies/polysomnography
Pulmonary lung function testing
Phase II cardiac rehabilitation
Asthma education
PMC respiratory therapists’ are also involved in community education offering adult and teen tobacco cessation and education classes, visiting community schools with information on tobacco and asthma education, and providing pulmonary screening testing at the 9 Health Fair.
Cardiopulmonary office hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Respiratory Therapists are on-call evenings and weekends, providing 24-hour coverage. We can be reached at (970)-878-9276 during normal business hours. |
