Pioneers Medical Center is excited to announce the healthcare scholarships available in time for the Fall 2011 Semester. There are five scholarship categories available to continuing college students, area residents, and/or 2011 graduating high school seniors pursuing an education in healthcare. The scholarships are sponsored by Colorado Northwest Community College, Westlands, the Zagar Family, Meeker General Merchandise, Employees of Pioneers Medical Center, and Pioneers Medical Center’s, Grow Your Own Program. The funding for these scholarships was made possible from local donations and business sponsorships to the 2011 Monte Carlo Event—A Scholarship Fundraiser.
Applicants may be required to participate in an on-site, or phone interview as part of the application process. During the interview they will be expected to demonstrate their commitment to their education, and their reasons for seeking an education in healthcare.
Health Professional Scholarships
Sponsored by: Colorado Northwest Community College
Scholarship Amount: $500
Eligibility: Senior graduating from Meeker High School pursuing pre-nursing and/or nursing studies and has been accepted to CNCC.
OR
Continuing college student pursuing pre-nursing and/or nursing studies at CNCC.
In partnership with CNCC, Pioneers Medical Center is offering a scholarship to increase the number of professionals in the field of nursing (RN or LPN). This scholarship is awarded based on a student’s academic performance, a minimum grade point average of 2.5, and community service.

Scholarship Amount: $500
Eligibility: Senior graduating from Meeker High School committed to pursuing a medical doctor or nursing degree.
This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior, and is awarded based on a student’s academic performance, a minimum grade point average of 3.0, their commitment to serving others and community service.
Applicant must have already been accepted at a college/university in the program of his/her choice.

Scholarship Amount: $1,000
Eligibility:
Eastern Rio Blanco County residents who have already graduated from high school and who are pursuing an education in the healthcare field. (Nursing--RN or LPN, Radiological Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Technology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physician, psychiatrist, psychologist, dentist and hygienist), or a non-clinical healthcare field (medical transcription, coder and billing).
Applicants must have already been accepted into a college/university or accredited school in the program of his/her choice. This award is based on the individual’s motivation, goals, background, and community involvement.

Scholarship Amount: $750
Eligibility: Current PMC employee, of at least 6-months, wishing to further their healthcare career and credentialing.

Scholarship Amount: $500
